In 1968, I sang soul and pop songs with The Choc, a band I had with my fellow students at the Design Academy in Eindhoven. But in 1992 it got serious when singer-songwriter Fay Lovsky wrote music inspired by my comic book characters for which I then made the illustrations: the album Jopo in Mono. Appelation Controlée became a moderate hit and for years was the tune for the cooking show C'est Tout Coffe on French television in an arrangement for pots and pans written by Fay. A few years later I worked with Arling & Cameron on their album Sound Shopping. The box contained a cubistic dancing couple made of carton.
